Lunar Exploration
Lunar exploration project aims to develop the first lunar probe of Korea and acquire the necessary technology for lunar exploration, such as an orbiter, a landing module, science payload, and deep space communication.
The first phase will focus on acquiring the essence of space exploration such as test orbiter, deep space telecommunication network, payload development through internatinoal partnership, etc. The second phase aims to develop unmanned lunar orbiter and landing module, and ultimately load them on KSLV for launch.
In 2016, KARI and NASA signed a lunar exploration technical cooperation agreement for the success of lunar exploration.
